Florier privacy policy
Last updated: 2 November 2026
The short version. Florier works without an account, and your data then stays on your phone. If you choose to create an account, your data is also stored online so you can use it on another phone. The AI assistant is optional and needs an account. There is no advertising, we don't sell your data, and you can delete your account and its data at any time.
Rolling out: accounts, sync and the changes to the assistant described here are being added in updates, so they may not be in your version yet. Older test versions also send your first name to the assistant.
Who is responsible
Florier is made and run by a single developer, who is the data controller for the online parts of the app. Questions or requests: floriersupport@gmail.com.
Using the app without an account
Your name, goals, food log, favourites, custom foods, weight, calculator answers, saved meals, day plans, water, exercise, supplements, reminder times and settings are stored only on your phone. We can't see them. If you delete the app or reset your data, they are gone, so use Export to keep a backup.
If you create an account
You can sign in with Google or with an email address and password. Before anything is uploaded, the app asks for your explicit consent, because this data can reveal information about your health. If you don't agree, you can keep using the app on your phone only.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address, username, nickname and, with Google, your Google account ID and name | To create and secure your account and to greet you |
| A password, stored only in hashed form by our sign-in provider | To let you log in |
| Your food log, weight, water, exercise, supplements, goals, saved foods and meals, and most settings | To keep your progress safe and the same on your phones |
| The number of assistant messages you use each day | To apply the daily limit |
Widget settings, your theme and your reminder schedules stay on each phone.
The AI assistant
The assistant is optional and needs an account. When you send a message, your question, recent messages in the chat and a summary of your numbers go through our server to Google's Gemini AI. That summary covers calories, macros, water, exercise and recent history, plus age, sex, height, weight, activity and goal if you've entered them. Your name and email are not included. The assistant can make mistakes and is not medical advice.
Food searches and barcodes
When you search online or scan a barcode, the words or barcode number are sent to Open Food Facts to find the product. Like any website, it can see your IP address. Nothing else from your log or profile is sent.
Camera, photos and notifications
The camera is used only to scan barcodes, and scans aren't saved. Photo scanning of meals isn't available at the moment. Reminders are scheduled on your phone and aren't sent from a server.
Who processes your data
| Provider | Used for |
|---|---|
| Supabase (database hosted in London, UK) | Accounts and synced data |
| Cloudflare | The assistant's server and this website |
| Google sign-in, and the Gemini AI for the assistant | |
| Resend | Sending verification and password-reset emails |
| Open Food Facts | Food searches and barcode lookups |
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards in their data protection terms. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Our legal basis
We rely on your explicit consent for health-related data, and on providing the service you asked for to run your account. We also have a legitimate interest in keeping the service secure, for example through limits on login attempts. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data until you delete your account. Accounts that never finish sign-up are removed after 7 days. Security records such as login-attempt counts are kept only briefly. Deleting your account removes your account and synced data from our database. Providers may keep limited logs for a short time under their own terms.
Your choices and rights
- Reset: Reset in Settings erases the data on your phone and, if you're signed in, in your account. You stay signed in. Choose Sign out if you don't want your account data erased.
- Sign out: the app finishes uploading your data, then removes it from that phone. It warns you first if it can't upload.
- Delete your account: in Settings, or at florierhealth.com/delete-account.html if you no longer have the app.
- Your rights: under UK data protection law, you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy, and you can object to some uses. Export in Settings gives you a copy at any time.
- Complaints: please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, each account can only reach its own data, and login attempts are limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else.
Age
Florier is for people aged 18 and over.
Health information
Calorie and nutrition figures are estimates, and the app is not medical advice. Speak to your GP or a registered dietitian before making big changes to how you eat or exercise, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant, take medication or have ever had an eating disorder.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and the version in the app, and tell you in the app about any important change before it applies.
